Creative Engagement Proposal Ideas

There are a lot of engagement proposal ideas floating around on the internet that you can choose from to make that special moment memorable. However, there is no greater proposal idea that is performed than the one that is in your head.

I say this because only you would know what your spouse likes or dislikes and with that bit of information you can have the best proposal idea created that will blow her mind and have her saying "yes" in no time.

If for some reason you do not have any proposal idea in mind or you just need to have some form of idea as to what is out there, you can take a look at the list below that I have compiled to give you some insight as to what you can do.

Now I do not expect you to just take the ideas as is and run with it, what would be better is if you use them as stepping stones to gather your own creative thoughts and put them into perspective and have a unique proposal idea at the end of the day.

After you have reviewed and decided on the way you would want to propose to her, just "DO IT." Then when you get that "yes" out of her, you can come back here and share your lovely idea with the world. Your engagement proposal idea will be seen my millions and you can be a part of a great group of individuals that are recycling the love and ingenuity of marriage and relationships.

Now without any more delays, here is the list of engagement proposal ideas I was referring to earlier.

Romantic, Creative Engagement Proposal Ideas

  • Get your local advertising and billboards company to build an ad and place it on a billboard with the best picture of you together and the words "Will You Marry Me?".
  • If you have a good friend who is a police officer, have him pull over your girlfriend for speeding. (Note though that this will be tricky.) When he stops her, you will come out of the car and propose to her on spot.
  • Make a call to your local radio station and have the DJ announce your proposal between songs. Be sure to be tuned in so that you do not miss your window of opportunity.
  • Put a proposal advertisement in the projections before the trailers start, or just before the intermission at your local movie theater and watch her accept!

This is one of the many engagement proposal ideas that I have seen in action personally and I loved it!

  • Get one of those ring size charts and ask your girlfriend to look up her ring size. When she thinks she has the last laugh and accuses you of ruining the surprise that you are shopping for a ring, you can simply let her down gently by saying, "Okay dear, try this one instead," and show her that you have already got her a ring!
  • Arrange to have a helicopter flight over a scenic mountainside area. Have the pilot fly over an area where you have spelled out “Will you marry me?” with white bricks.
  • Engagement Proposal Idea

  • While dining out at a Chinese restaurant arrange to have a personal fortune cookie delivered with the proposal inside. To ensure your girlfriend gets the right cookie, simply put the proposal in both cookies!
  • If she is a teacher, write out the proposal on the blackboard before she arrives. Then, when she arrives, come in with roses and sweets for everyone.
  • Get in contact with a local singing band/choir and have them come to your door and ring the doorbell. When she answers the door, have them sing your proposal and when she turns around she will see you on your knee with the ring.
  • Find a way and arrange to have an amusement park announce the question over their loudspeakers. She will get a thrill out of that.

Does any of the engagement proposal ideas listed above entice you so far?

  • Take her to a fancy restaurant. Then for desert, have the waiter bring her a special plate with a lid on it. Underneath the lid will be the diamond engagement ring.
  • Get a bunch of your friends and family for a party and have everyone there put on a T-shirt bearing one of the letters in the phrase "Will You Marry Me?" When you walk in the room with your girlfriend, suggest a group picture and let the shirts speak for themselves.
  • Go out dancing, and during the night ask the DJ or the band leader to hand you the mic so that you can dedicate a song to your girlfriend and propose to her on the dance floor.
  • Pay the divers at an aquarium to put on a proposal show inside their biggest fish tank. Give them handwritten signs that say "Will You Marry Me?" to hold up against the glass.
  • Talk to a sidewalk chalk artist and ask him to draw a proposal scene out for you with little bubbles that read “Will you marry me?” Arrange to pass the sidewalk proposal during a romantic stroll.
  • Rent an airplane that can have the banner “Will you marry me?” attached to it and have it fly during a specific time and a place. Make sure you choose a day where there will be clear skies.
  • Here is a video example of one of the engagement proposal ideas!

  • You can create a web page with your proposal on it. Leave her a clue with a link to the web page. After she has accepted your proposal, I know she will, she can then send friends and family members links to the website.
  • Buy her some roses. Inside one of the roses, place an elegant diamond ring with a very special note!
  • Take her to the place where you guys first met. When you get there, get on your knees and just propose. She’ll be very happy that you remembered the place your first met.
  • Take a trip to Disney World. Arrange for the question to be popped during one of their many daily parades. Have one of the floats feature the question as it passes by.
  • Here is one of the most classic engagement proposal ideas: Announce your proposal in front of all your family and friends at a hot summer family barbecue. Get all the work done in one setting.
  • If you feel that the fourth of July is the best time to propose, go to one of your local fireworks show and have the announcer pop the question before the actual fireworks start. I am sure by doing this it will be the best 4th of July she ever had!
  • During a flight on a commercial airliner you can have the stewardess announce the engagement over the intercom. If you are so lucky you can get the pilot to even chip in to wish you a good marriage. I know she will never forget that flight!
  • Purchase a pet that she has always wanted, like a bunny, a kitten, or a puppy, and loosely tie the ring around its neck. If you want you can even just get a stuffed version of the animal she likes and do the same thing with the ring. This would be easier and a lot cheaper to maintain!

This is also one of the many used engagement proposal ideas out there!

  • If you guys like to bowl, go to the bowling alley and after she knocks down the first set of pins, you can have a banner drop that reads “Will You Marry Me?”
  • If you have connections with any baker, have him make a cake with the proposal written in frosting and display it in the storefront. You then suggest a little window-shopping to your girlfriend and the rest is history!
